Board
The Elliot Lake Public Library Board is responsible for developing and maintaining the policies and procedures of the library. The Board acts in accordance with the Ontario Public Libraries Act, as well as the municipal budget and provincial operating grant.

The mission of Elliot Lake Public Library is to support the individual pursuit of knowledge by opening doors to a world of information, education and recreation, thereby enhancing the economic, social and cultural vitality of our community.

The Library Board meets on the second Thursday of every month from September to June. The Chair of the Board may call special meetings, as necessary.
The term of the Library Board is the same four-year period as that of City Council.
Residents of Elliot Lake who are interested in serving on the Library Board are encouraged to submit an application to the City Clerk. Notices of vacancies will appear in local news outlets as they become available. Library Board membership is a volunteer position. To qualify as a Board member, you must be:
- 18 years of age or older
- A Canadian Citizen
- A resident of the City of Elliot Lake
- Not employed by the Board or the municipality
