HISTORY OF ELLIOT LAKE

 The City of Elliot Lake owes its existence to the uranium mining industry. In the past there were 12 mines in existance (photo of Can-Met at right.) They were: Buckles, Can-Met, Denison, Lacnor, Milliken, Nordic, Panel, Pronto & Pater, Quirke, Spanish American, Stanleigh and Stanrock.
